1. Initial Meeting

At Cabido Design & Build, we believe that the best remodeling projects are the ones that are built on a foundation of trust and communication. That’s why we start every project with a comprehensive consultation. We want to get to know you and your needs, so that we can create a plan that meets your goals and exceeds your expectations.

2. Estimating / Preliminary Design

Once we have a clear understanding of your project, we will work with you to develop a detailed estimate and preliminary design. We will be upfront about all costs, so that there are no surprises down the road. Once the estimate is approved, we will get to work.

3. Approval

As we decide on the scope of work and the tentative project timeline, we will work with you to create a contract and payment schedule. The contract will outline the terms of the project, including the scope of work, the project timeline, the cost of the project, and the payment schedule.

4. Project Kick-Off / Permitting / Planning

Before any demolition or construction work begins, a project is already underway. The first step is to obtain the necessary permits for the project. While we are waiting for the permits, we will hold a pre-construction meeting where the entire Cabido Design & Build team meets with the homeowner at the project site. This is an opportunity for us to introduce ourselves, go over the scope of work, and make sure that everyone is on the same page. During this time, we will also double-check any changes to the scope or measurements. While we are planning on our end, our clients are busy making all necessary decisions with our wonderful designers.

5. Information gathering / Material sourcing

A renovation project can be a disruptive process, so we do everything we can to minimize the impact on your day to day life. We strive to have all materials available before we begin so that the project can progress without any delays. All materials will be first delivered to our warehouse, thoroughly inspected for any damages, defects, and/or missing parts, then scheduled for delivery to its final destination (the project). Through our experience, we have learned that by following these steps, we can ensure that your project will be completed with the highest quality materials and workmanship, on time and within budget.

6. Breaking ground (figuratively, but sometimes literally)

The breaking ground phase is the official start of construction on your remodeling project. Once we

have all designs and choices made, materials all ready at hand and ready to be slowly dispersed, and crews and tradesmen all lined up and scheduled, we will break ground on your project. Once we break ground, we will have weekly quick meetings (virtual or in-person), to discuss the project milestones, goals, expectations, and discuss any questions and feedback. We will also keep you updated on our progress throughout the project.

7. Completion / Walkthrough / Touchups

Once we have completed all of the work, we will clean up and leave your home in perfect condition. After all necessary inspections are passed, one of our representatives will go through a walkthrough of the entire project and scope, along with the homeowner. During this walkthrough, we will discuss and gather feedback on the project and create a touch-up list. We will tackle the touch-ups as soon as the list is compiled. Once all of the touch-ups have been completed, we will officially complete your remodeling project. We will provide you with a final walk-through and answer any questions you may have and hand over all documentation regarding the project.
